Les Voix Concert

Months of practise and effort that are put in, the Voice Ensemble finally performs at one of the grand places in Nanyang Polytechnic, the Threatre of the Arts. Compared to the Auditorium, the Threatre of the Arts is smaller as its capacity size is just 300 people. Most of all, size of the crowd doesnt matter, it is the music that enchant the audience... that is the most important part of the whole concert...

For the past week before the actual concert, some were falling sick, some were too tired to attend the practises and ICAs are coming. Every one is busy with their own school work. However, it is a good thing that everyone played a part to commit in this concert. The committee members also spend most of the time to design the props for concert but ended up not using it. It was such a waste but definitely, I am the one who feel bad about the whole thing as I didnt help out due to my attachment. :<

On the day of the concert, the whole ensemble is still trying to minimise the errors that would make while singing. For instance, the Altos are trying their best to get the right pitch. Shuai Xun and I are also struggling to get our pitch for "Lullabye". It wasnt easy for any of us but we hope miracles would happen.

3 more hours before concert, everyone had their dinner and change into their suits and gowns. The guys are not feeling nervous while in the changing room. We were taking pictures using Shuai Xun's camera since its very rare for us to dress up some nicely. However, once we are standing near the stage, preparing to get in line before the start of the show, seems like the guys are losing their power and need time to calm themselves down. I was feeling nervous too but I guess, acting like a retard by doing some funny stuff do help one to reduce the stress.

CONCERT STARTS!! Yeah... and it was time to stand on the stage and sing. I tried my best, so as everyone. There are still missing notes but we manage to sing it through. The loudest applause for the 1st half of the concert was its last song, "Dubulah". Then, 2nd half was much better as cheers are heard and especially when the song, "I Can Make The Difference", which Gerald had sang. It was our encore piece for that night and it was the right song to end the whole concert, which did show that miracles do happen, as well as we can make the difference for this concert. Well done!! Everyone!!

Les Voix Concert has come to an end and I guess, this is one hell of a concert that everyone would remember, especially the committee. Come to think about it, thinking the name of the concert took us more than 3 hours to conclude that we are getting "Les Voix" as our concert title. Haha... It wasnt easy to plan this concert as it takes time and effort for it to be fulfilled. Hmm... Before I end, I just need to thank the following people, who have make this concert a success.

V.E. Committee >>> It isnt easy for us to come out with this concert but everyone did play a part to make it a success. Yi Tian and Ping Ding. who are the leaders of the ensemble did make things work. With the help of the rest of the members in the committee, we managed to show that we work as a team to create miracles for the juniors. Anyway, I really thank all of you for helping me when I'm busy as well as not doing my job well as the Logistics of the team. Especially Kah Hong and Ping Ding, who helped me with all the stuff... Thanks all of you again...

Juniors of V.E. >>> You are the ones that make this concert a big hit! Without all of you, I dont think even the Committee members could produce a splendid performance like last night. I hope you all will buck up and enjoy singing as always. Lets just say, try not to quit V.E. as we are now like a family. Haha... Anyway... All I want to say that you people rocks!! Altos espeically!! You put in your best effort for the show!! Thats great!!

Mr Ong >>> Wow!! Music sounds so easy to learn but it takes years to have the skills to teach. I really appreciate for your help when I lose my note for any difficulties I faced while singing. Although I admit that I did forget some stuff you have taught in your music workshop, it did help me to place music as one of the top piorities in my life.

Vincent, Reeza and V.J. >>> Hey... Thanks for helping us in the videoing of the concert. I know it did take your time but I hope it did entertain you. I know the token we gave was not what you want. Yeah!! Chocolates... never mind... I treat you guys Coca Cola next time... Haha... Well... Thanks again.

With that, I shall say Lex Voix Concert has ended with a big success. It wasnt easy but we been through everything together as an ensemble for the past few months. I hope all of you enjoy and next year, we shall make this concert a better one! Hehe...

Before I end, I just wish to tell [ KL ] and [ E ] this but I dont dare to do it, in case that I am being an emotional guy again. Well, I dont believe in religion although I do pray... However, I believe that 2 souls were there in the concert. Both souls are watching the performance and most of all, I guess they will watch over you no matter where you are.

Miracles do happen, as what we said before the concert. It did and it will always happen once you believe in it...
