Haze Danger... Soccer 'FIGHT'-back...
This morning, I just realised that the haze in Singapore has got worsen. After 4 days in camp, I finally knew what was going wrong. During the camp, we didnt have any outdoor activities, so we were all like the citizens of a third world country, who didnt have the chance to watch the latest news that affects our environment. What's worst?!! We didnt know that the haze was that serious.
I only get to know that there's a haze was when I switched on the computer this morning and saw my cousin's MSN nick was saying 'PSI hits 130...'. No wonder last night while I'm cycling, I couldnt see clearly the road in front of me. I thought it was my eyes playing tricks with me. I had not been sleeping that well on Thursday night. Moreover, I was wearing contact lenses. I assumed that I was too tired, thats why the road was so foggy. Other than that, I thought my contact lenses were dry. I keep trying to yawn in order to create tears from my eyes. Yet, it didnt work that well. I also thought that its because people were playing with the candles thats why its so foggy at that period of time.
Anyway, right now, its not save to go out with the PSI that high. To me, that nothing but to the drivers, this is a big issue. I couldnt see clearly while I'm cycling so what if I had an accident?? LOL... kidding... Touchwood!! My Mum was nagging at me this morning not to play any sports this week since the environment is so bad and my injuried ankle has not recovered. However, I still have the urge to play soccer so in the end, I still went to play. I, 'accidentally' lied to my Mum that I would be going to the library to return my book and went for dinner with Eugene and gang. Well, I did do the 2 things but I forgot to add an additional detail that I'm playing soccer. Hehe... Haix... If my dear Sister is looking at this, Li Wen ar... keep this to yourself... Dont tell your Mum or else I'm dead for sure...
Today's soccer was... erm... violent one. When I was walking to the team, they were yelling at me to come over quickly. By then they were having a match with CCC, also known as China Construction Constitution. Why we named them that way? Simply because they are construction workers from China, coming to Singapore to earn money?? Sort of... Back to the match, Eugene told me the score was 4-2. I was like... 'Oh!! 4-2... Wow... You guys really know how to dominate them.' Eugene was smiling while he was talking to me so I wasnt worried about anything. However, once he told me that the 4 goals refered to CCC, I was like... 'WHAT THE ^#*&%!!!!' This is what happens if your defence is weak. OMG! I tried to play slowly since I cant run too fast. In the end, I was on fire, playing as rough as CCC.
I was playing quite friendly until one of the CC players tackled my left foot (injuried foot) and I started to limp while I walk. It was really painfully, as if it was the same pain I felt last week. Everyone was worried that I cant play as they are lack of one player. I did continue and soon, Jia Long joined the team. Although we are at an advantage, the situation is not a good one for us. They were leading us by 6-4 by then. The previous 2 goals were scored by Eugene through long shots. The 3rd came when I passed to Jimmy and he whacked it into the goal. The 4th was also done by Jimmy, with Jonathan giving a through-pass to Jimmy, while Jim slot it into the post. However, mistakes are always made that cost us the game. Each time we score a goal, we concede another. That was a bad game for us.
However, I was not going to give up at all. You can see how black was my face. Shouting like a jerk without any brains, yelling at my teammates to focus... Though there's no captain, I still act like one. However, I was just trying to boost everyone's morale. Our defence was very bad with Kian Wee and Jonathan as centre backs. The big problem was that they are not experience enough. They are not as stable as Jack, Jimmy or Eugene. That was a bad idea for putting the 2 at there. Luckily, there was a change and Eugene was helping them at the back. Our defence was much stable after that. I should say that Eugene was the rock of the defence by then. jack was playing left wing and Jimmy as centre forward. Jia Long was right wing while me, I'm in the centre midfield position.
The next scorer was Kian Wee, with a nice shot of the ball. I was able to push the ball between the legs of the CCC player and the ball rolled to Kian Wee, who was open and the goalpost was infront of him. with a nice gentle kick, the score was 6-5, one more goal to equalise. Soon, Jack was having the ball when he passed to me and I tapped in. 6-6!!! We have equalised!!! We begin to lead when Jia Long crossed the ball to me and I headed it. Believe it or not, Jia Long did crossed!!! He was at the right side of the line and he hestiated for a while. Jim and I was infront, waving our hands to him. If not wrong, he wanted to cross to Jim but he couldnt. He just whacked the ball without looking at us and the ball curled, flew pass Jim. I was next to Jim so I tired to lower myself down. I didnt see the ball coming but it hit my head. The next thing I heard was a 'thud', which is the ball hitting the pole. The next instance, Eugene was shouting loudly. I looked up and saw the ball into the goal. WOW!!! Its rare for me to score with my head. Nice one Jia Long!!! We lead by 6-7 by then.
However, mistakes were made and CCC equalised. In the end, we ended the match with a 8-7 lead. Eugene whacked the ball hard up and Jimmy just use his head and slightly touched the ball and it was a goal. Haha... The goalie was stunned for a moment, thinking that Jim couldnt touch it. He was wrong after all. We ended the match with a quarrel after one of the CCC players pushed me down and Jack was like unhappy and started to yell at them. That's it. 7-8 and we won. They left the match so it was a great fightback. However, I dont expect a 'FIGHT' back since the match wasnt that fair at all... Fights nearly broke out I think. Haha... Anyway, nice play guys... Its good that no one gives up. The shouting wasnt that bad at all. It does work!! Kidding... hehe...
Anyway, the haze was so bad that we couldnt see quite clearly. With the mentality of winning the game, the haze didnt affect us much. Indonesia maybe trying to stop the burnings they faced but they cant stop the fire that is burning within us. That's call determination, teamwork and probably what Jack always say, 'We are SKILLED!!' LOL!! My nose is better now with no nose block at all, currently... Haix... Now I'm watching England's match. England better win or else I will be getting sian... Haha... Nice play by everyone for today... Interesting match with interesting result. Haha...
