Clubcrawl 2008...
Since I am waiting for V.J. and Vincent to come over to Canberra Secondary, I think I should start to blog my latest entry. Well, I have been quite busy with the Clubcrawl at Nanyang Polytechnic that I think I was really drained for waking up too early for the two days for the event. I think I should post about what happened during the 2 days.
Waking up at 8.15am was not a good sign for me. I used to wake up during 11am during my holidays and to wake up at such a sudden timing, it seems I am not used to it. Moreover, I was editing the concert video at V.J.’s house till 1 plus in the morning, giving me more exhaustion for my mind and body. With all the wash up and preparations, I went to meet Auntie Emily before heading to school together.
With some warm-ups, we went to the stage at the Clubcrawl event and performed. What a disaster! The microphones are not working well and our voices could not be heard, I guess. My voice was not that well as I went off-key while singing the 1st song! Gosh! That is really bad. The performance ended and it was a relief for us. While some went to give out flyers, I helped to look after the booth, and of course, after my dinner. It was an entire boring afternoon but luckily for the performances done by other clubs of the school, boredom doesn’t affect me greatly.
Night came and the rest went for dinner while I stayed in the clubroom to play my game, as well as doing some studies for ‘A’ Maths. It is my
first, no second time doing ‘A’ Maths and it is really a difficult subject I supposed. I was stuck with the questions, basic ones, for nearly 2 hours before Auntie Emily came and guided me. I was looking for solutions and explanations from websites and videos from Youtube but yet, I was still finding it hard to solve. Anyway, thanks for Auntie Emily, I managed to solve the 1st question. ~.~
Second day of Clubcrawl was also not a good one. Reason for that, some fall sick, some had no voice and for me, my voice seems to be affected as well and could not hit the high notes for ‘Dancing Queen’. Bad! That is indeed bad! Well, this time the performance was much better, better in the sense that the sound qualities from the microphones are much better than the day before.
I got to saw my Sister watching the performance, walking around the booths in the Sports Hall. In the end, she did not join Voice Ensemble but Student Union. I won’t blame her since she’s not interested in singing and all she wants to do is a simple CCA that’s all. Anyway, she also seemed to be interested in Eric’s Mentoring Club. Oops! Haha…
Overall from the 2 days result, we have approximately 60 people who had written their names on the paper, who wish to take part in the Voice Ensemble CCA. For me, it is a good thing as we still get to have so many people who are interested in choral music. However, the results could be misleading as people tend to think that our CCA is more towards solo or duet singing, which is actually wrong. People tend to mix up with the two clubs; Voice Ensemble and Sound Card. Well, hope such mistakes won’t happen too often during each year’s Clubcrawl.
Alright, Clubcrawl has come to an end and now, which is later, Orientation cum Audition for the new members for the Voice Ensemble. I just can’t wait what is planned for today’s activities.
