Auntie Emily asked me a weird question yesterday, asking me which handphone of Sony Ericsson I would prefer to buy. I was wondering what is up on her sleeves but still, I fail to guess what is she thinking of. It seems like something is really fishy with her idea of asking me such questions and it really does keep me thinking what is she up to.

Anyway, today, she asked the same question again. This time, it was something more specific than yesterday. The question was ‘What do you see in the features of a handphone before you buy it?’ This is indeed a very tricky question, which ended up her wanting to know what’s my opinion and reasons for having such features in a handphone.

Since that is the case, then I shall just explain what I hope to have in my ideal handphone.

To call & SMS
The main purpose of using a handphone, which sounds indeed lame as a handphone is used for such purposes. I hope to have a durable handphone, unlike my current Nokia 6288, which has a bloated battery in it, which anytime it could explode. Hmm… Well, all I need is to have a proper phone which I could call to that person and could have a user-friendly SMS service. Other than that, it is not that important for these services.

Music & FM Radio
Since technology comes in play, many phones nowadays have the functions of playing music right from their memory card, which is placed in the phone itself. Now, this is very cool as people tend to walk wherever they want, with their music being played. For me, I’m not that kind of person who likes to play my own music loudly, walking down the streets in Singapore. Hence, I would just like a simple phone with the ablity to store music in it, as well as a FM radio, which I could used if I’m feeling bored with the songs I kept listening all day long. Well, it isn’t a big problem for me now since I have my MP3 with me at all times.

Recorder
It does not mean the musical instrument, the recorder. It is the feature in the phone, which allows one to record some songs or sounds or even his or her voice. For me, I need a recorder as it helps me to record the music that the Voice Ensemble could be singing. Imagine having a song that is played out of your phone contains your voices in the group? That’s great isn’t it?!! Well, another usage of the recorder is to record my voice, especially when a tune comes into my head. Purpose of it… Hmm… Secret! Haha… =P

Alarm Clock & Time
I don’t wear a watch, as well as I have no alarm clock at home. Time is a very important thing for me, especially when it comes to doing something with a fast pace. That is why I need something that could wake me up every morning and I have an object to help me indicate what time is it. Now, that makes my life easier rather than asking or scouting from people’s watches, isn’t it?

Bluetooth
If no one likes to use Bluetooth, then I guess that person prefers the infrared. Now, Bluetooth is a good tool for sending files to one another and it has a faster connection and sending speed to the other person, which I think it is still useful for me, especially when we friends tend to sent songs one another and share it. Now that is call ‘Peer to Peer’, that is not illegal. LOL!! Kidding…

After all the specific details of what I wish my ideal handphone would be, I hope Auntie Em will not have any problems knowing what phone I prefer. What matters most is its functions, after considering the functions, then I will look at its design and weigh, before I buy it. =]
