My View of SYF
All bands will play their best once they step into the grassy pitch for their one and only performance. With all efforts to be displayed to the judges, there is nothing to lose at that moment. Months of hard work for all the training, marching, playing and team-building, it’s finally the time to show the rest who are in the stadium to witness the performance what each school can really do.
Once the results are slowly announced, one by one, each school band get its glory status and no matter what is the outcome, they will be joy, they will cries. The best drum major will get the bigger boost for the day for putting up his best display for throwing the maize high up to the sky and catch it back gracefully. The best band will get the most cheers and their alumni players will be there cheering and hugging them, with pride and tears on their faces.
As the day ends, the band with the best achievements will show case their music to their supporters, playing and dancing in front of them. Noises, that are once being considered, have become the chants and cheers for the band’s victory. As the so-called party goes on for the next few minutes, slowly one by one, the bands will leave the arena; stadium; as they head home. Yet, the celebration continues in the bus, and most of all, the memories… it will remain forever, and ever.
