A Story From A Friend...
This is what my friend told his other friend about this matter, about a female friend of theirs, who passed away due to the world's number one killer disease; cancer.
It's gonna be a short one but hope it is impactful, which changes people's minds.
Alice (not the real name) was an active gal. She likes sports alot and was having a bright future ahead of her life. At that time, she was just only Secondary 4, preparing to take her 'O' levels and head for Polytechnic or Junior College. However, one tiny and stupid accident occured had changed her life completely.
During a sports training, she accidentally fell and had a swollen kneecap. Thinking that it was nothing severe, she continue to her training, without seeking for any medical attention the next few days. Soon, the swell got worsen and her Dad brought her to see a doctor at a nearby clinic. The doctor gave her some pain killer pills but the swell wont heal. By then, they had no choice but to seek help from the hospital.
The next instance when they got the doctor to check out the swell, it was suspected that the swell was no ordinary swell. With a few rounds of X-Ray checks, it was found that cancerous cells are spreading from the leg. She went for thermotherapy and the results was not good too. By then, the cancerous cells had already spread around her body and it was the last stage for cancer. To her, college and polytechnic are over, yet the only task remains was to stay awake each morning to see the same surroundings around her.
She was gone a few weeks ago. Memories are the only thing that she left for her friends and family members. Well, I am not close to her but she reminds me of my Primary school mate who also lost the battle against such a disease. Believe or not, life can be brittle. A small injury could cause such a disaster in a person's life.
For me, my advise is to get people to see a doctor if the injury still persist, or else when it is too late, then it will be bad. However, that is not the only thing that concerns me, the person who dont wish to see doctors should attempt to see one if the pain still persist. At least you know what is happening to your injury or pain. All I could say now is that, if the person who is losing his or her life, does not mind about it, it shows how brave you are. However, think about the ones who cares for you.
That's all I could type for now. The rest is up to you readers if you believe in this story or not. Medical bills cost a bomb but care and concern brings courage for patients to live on and fight for another day. Life is brittle, yes it is....
